Leisure & Sports Facilities
A new indoor leisure centre within the heart of the new town centre will be delivered as part of the regeneration. SLM are the appointed operators and construction is anticipated to start in spring 2018 with completion due by autumn 2019. The new leisure centre will include a six lane swimming pool, learner pool, gym and exercise class rooms.
The sports ground at the existing Bordon and Oakhanger Sports Club (BOSC) will be improved and a new, potentially colonial style, pavilion including changing rooms and a café will be built. Improvements are also planned for other existing football and cricket pitches which will compliment the proposed sports pitches at the new Mill Chase Academy.
New children’s play areas, parks and areas of natural green spaces are planned throughout the development for all to enjoy.
The Garrison Pool (external link) at the Prince Philip Barracks is still open to the public.
The Shipwrights Way is a new 50-mile long distance path linking the towns and villages of East Hampshire to the beautiful countryside.
An exciting new skate park, funded by the Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company, was opened in July 2017 by GB Olympian, European and World BMX champion Liam Philips. The skate park is located on the corner of Budds Lane and Station Road and is managed by Whitehill Town Council.
